Charles “Chuck” Allen Grahn

Former Gresham resident Charles “Chuck” Allen Grahn, 69, died Saturday, April 18, in The Dalles.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 S.E. Mount Scott Blvd., Portland. A reception will follow at the Eagle Estates East Clubhouse on Northeast Fleming Avenue in Gresham.
Chuck was born Feb. 29, 1940, in Roseau, Minn., to Allen S. and Orpha V. Grahn. He was raised in Gresham and graduated from Gresham High School in 1958. He served in the Army from 1963 to 1965.
On May 6, 1997, he married Cherie Sullivan in Winnemucca, Nev. They lived in Gresham until 2005 and later moved to Wamic.
Chuck was a self-employed contractor and a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1020. He built his first boat, which he still owned at the time of his death, while he was a senior at Gresham High School.
Chuck enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, playing golf and flying his Cessna 172. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Joann Kaneshiro of Kona, Hawaii; sons, Ray Grahn and Lance Grahn, both of Clovis, Calif.; stepson, Bret Roske of Vancouver, Wash.; stepdaughter, Lori Balbi of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; mother, Orpha Grahn of Gresham; brothers, Leroy Grahn and Seth Calvin Grahn of Gresham; sister, Cleone Magnuson of Green Valley, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
